I am running 64-bit Windows 10 (Version 1809). I just downloaded the 64-bit version of PotPlayer from the PotPlayer home page. I get the following error message when attempting to install it:

PotPlayer-64 bit v1.7.18958 Setup "Error! Can't initialize plug-ins directory. Please try again later."

How can I resolve this issue?

1-) Turn off the internet
2-) Close Antivirus/Firewall program (you are probably using avast,
3-) Install PotPlayer
4-) Run Antivirus/Firewall program
5-) Turn on the internet

I turned off the Internet by disconnecting from it.
I turned off my virus/firewall protection (Bitdefender Total Security)
I attempted to install PotPlayer
Same error code appeared

if the latest beta ( has same problem too, you may need to add full access to the TEMP folder. For this go to C:\Users\your account name\AppData\Local, right click on temp folder > properties > security >advanced > add > select a principal > type everyone then enter > select "Allow" and "this folder, subfolders and files" click full control > ok & ok...

Right click - Run as administrator
