there is a way to change default playback speed ? say 1.5X
Postby Dreamer » 01 Nov 2017 07:47
I don't think so.

I added this to my feature request [REQ] Command line options

Code: Select all
/speed[Xx]            : Default playback speed Xx, e.g. /speed1.5x

Perhaps it will be easier to implement options like this to command line. You can support my request, if you want.

Now I miss this option too. While watching a TV series - multiple episodes, I have to change the speed after each episode.

I suggest the option to preserve the playback speed within the current playlist. Perhaps the option with the alternative option:

[ ] Preserve the playback speed

select - always
square - within the current playlist

But the requested feature in this thread has already been added. So set your useful speed value for example 1.5x an then just use Z key to toggle between 1.0x and 1.5x.

Oh, it looks it works in the latest beta version - is this option set automatically?

I watch the latest changelog but I missed this change.

Thank you! :)

The feature was added 2 years ago. (1.6.57398) :D
It can't be auto.

Hm... it works like this now:

PP 1.7.7150 - latest 64 bit version:
- load multiple videos to playlist
- set audio speed to 1.2x
- wait for the next video or switch manually to the next video
= speed is changed to 1.0x

PP 1.7.7978 latest beta:
- load multiple videos to playlist
- set audio speed to 1.2x
- wait for the next video or switch manually to the next video
= speed is 1.2x

EDIT: OK I tested with the same settings in the new beta version and it doesn't work, so it must be the option, where is that option?

PotPlayer keeps speed value changes (via the keys X and C) over the whole runtime. And it has a function to remember the last used speed value (via the key Z).So the user can switch between default and the last used speed value via Z key even when the program is restarted. That's all.
I tried the versions you mentioned and both are working like this.

OK, the problem is in my ini, some GUI or/and ini option must affect it.

Do you know which option or at least category may affect it?

I could upload my ini for testing, if needed.

OK, upload or copy/paste it, I'll take a look at your settings.
